초록

This deeply moving documentary is hosted by Loretta Swit from the classic television show, M*A*S*H, and focuses on the U.S. role in the grim "police action" that was the Korean War. The story is told from the perspective of the Air Force, Marines, Army and Merchant Marine. From the Inchon landing in 1950 through the truce signed in 1953, this is the story of Korea, the first war fought by Americans which we did not win. The program strongly supports American History and World History units on the United States' post-World War II policy of containment, which involved supplying economic and military aid to prevent the spread of communism -- reasons for U.S. involvement in this conflict, and the domestic and international effects of this war. Executive producer: Arnold Shapiro. Written, produced and directed by Carol L. Fleisher.
